Team RL360 has won the coveted team title at the British National Youth 10-Mile Time Trial Championships for a remarkable eighth time.

The event was staged in very wet conditions on a flat technical course near Sawtry in Cambridgeshire.

Competing against Britain’s very best young cyclists, Max Walker, Tosh Teare and Will Corkill covered the distance in a combined time of one hour 05 minutes and 13 seconds to take the team title by a clear margin.

Battling against the worst of the weather, Walker was the fastest of the RL360 riders, clocking a speedy 21.23 to finish an excellent fourth, a narrow 11 seconds short of the bronze medal position.

Teare got round in 21.50 for eighth, with Corkill, who topped the 15-year-old age category, posting a solid 22.01 to secure the team victory in 10th spot.

In addition Peel’s Matthew Cooil produced an impressive 24.11 to win the 13-year-old class in 51st place overall.

There were also good performances from the five other Manx youngsters who qualified for the final in the Isle of Man district heat at Jurby in June.

Equiom IoM Junior member Harry Cain was 16th in 22.18, Jack Christian a fine 42nd in 23.47, Niall Colquitt 106th in 28.26, Shellan Leeming 113th in 28.54 and Darcy Cain 117th in 29.41.

All the championship silverware, including the magnificent GHS team shield, will be officially presented to the winners at the Road Time Trials spectacular Champions Night annual awards ceremony and dinner in January.
