This Sunday is the closing date for entering the Murray Lambden Open Athletics meeting organised by Manx Harriers.

Entry forms are available via the www.manxharriers website or by contacting Bridget Kaneen on 497594 (email [email protected]).

The meeting is being held on the perimeter roadway of the National Sports Centre on Saturday, February 22 and will begin with junior walks for the under-nine age group and upwards from 10am.

Distances are 1km, 3km or 5km depending on age.

There are also 5km, 10km and 20km walks for older juniors and senior walkers.

The meeting will incorporate a junior challenge walking match between competitors from England and Ireland.

The club is also promoting the Northern England 20km Walking Championships within the meeting.

A 10km run will be held at 2pm for athletes aged 15 or over on the day. It will be one of the few opportunities to record a time for the distance on a certified course licensed by UK Athletics.

Please note, there will be no entry on the day for any of the events. Volunteers are required, please contact Bridget (as above) if you are free to help, either morning or afternoon.
