The pre-Christmas American tournament at Albany Lawn Tennis Club was won by Ray Roberts and Michaela Douchonova on Tuesday evening.

Members then enjoyed some festive food and non-alcoholic wine, including some of Anthony Morgan’s lovely mince pies.

It’s planned to hold another series in the early part of 2021.

These will be held on Tuesdays - January 26, February 23, March 30 and April 27, so please pop the dates in your new diary.

l The Friday Morning Ladies lunch, held at the Empress Hotel, was a very enjoyable event for the 31 members who attended (see photo).

Organised by Jan Gaskill and Val Worth, members chatted non-stop for two hours while also devouring a delicious three-course meal including festive food, wine, mince pies and coffee.

This is a very active part of the club, raising money for charities, and they will be meeting in January to plan next year’s activities.

l There will be no coaching over the festive period, as from tomorrow (Saturday), with mini tennis sessions re-starting on January 10.

The club coach will remind mini and junior members of re-start dates for all coaching sessions after the New Year.
