An entry of 145 has been received for the 12th annual Firefighters’ Memorial Walk which takes place this Sunday, starting from Peel Fire Station on Heathfield Drive at 8.30am.

Signing on for the race will open from 7.30am, with a safety briefing at 8.15am. The event covers 50km of the Parish Walk route from Peel to Kirk Michael, continuing to Ballaugh, Jurby, Andreas and Sulby, before finishing at Ramsey Fire Station. Entries are now closed.

Timing chips and numbers can be collected from Up & Running, Buck’s Road, Douglas on Friday or Saturday between 10am and 5pm.

l Northern AC’s Mooragh Park runs begin tomorrow, Friday, with signing on from 6pm for a 7pm start. A choice of distances for seniors/vets, plus your races round the park.

l Western AC’s Dave Phillips Series in Peel start next Friday, April 20 with a scratch race over the Headlands Course.

l Round two of the Junior Fell Running Championships is combined with the Callin Wild league event at Carraghyn on Wednesday, April 25.

This will start at 7pm from a point slightly north of Baldwin reservoir. The 4km race involves 300 metres of climbing.
