For the third week in succession, there’s a much reduced fixture list in the Canada Life Premier League this weekend.
With the Isle of Man FA representative side currently away in Glasgow competing in the Umbro Quadrangular tournament, the games involving Peel v Colby, St George’s v Braddan and Rushen Utd v Laxey have all been postponed.
However, this weekend does offer up the first Friday night game of the 2017-18 season as Douglas Royal travel to Mullen e Cloie to take on St John’s under the floodlights.
The Saints will certainly start as favourites in this one, with Royal only having one point to their name thus far this season on their return to the top flight.
But the Saints will need to be wary of complacency against a Royal side with ex-Johnners striker Craig Dolman in their ranks.
On Saturday, the two games see Ramsey travel to DHSOB while St Mary’s take on near neighbours Douglas Athletic at Springfield Road.
Old Boys were in rampant form against Royal in their last match courtesy of hat-tricks from Adam Adebiyi and Darren Hudgeon so will be expected to win again, while DAFC may just fancy their chances of causing an upset against the Saints.
