St George’s and Corinthians will contest two cup finals in the space of five days after the pair won their respective Cu-Plas Railway Cup semi-finals on Tuesday evening.
The pair will meet in Saturday’s Hospital Cup final before facing off for the Railway Cup next Wednesday night at the Bowl.
In a repeat of the recent Hospital Cup semis, FA Cup winners Corinthians beat Rushen 1-3 at Croit Lowey to secure a place in their first Railway Cup final.
Ste Riding put the Spaniards ahead in Port Erin, only for Luke Murray’s crisp strike to draw the two sides level.
Stephen Whitley edged the Whites in front before Sam Black wrapped up the win.
The other last-four tie went the distance, Geordies beating old rivals Peel 6-5 on penalties after the pair had drawn 1-1.
Furo Davies had put the cup holders ahead in the second half, Shaun Kelly leveling the tie five minutes later to send it to extra time and then spot-kicks.
In JCK Division Two, Marown have given themselves a great chance of lifting the title after beating Onchan 5-0 in their penultimate game of the league season.
The result moves the Crosby side up to second in the league standings, three points behind Castletown.
A six-goal margin of victory over bottom side Governor’s Athletic at Ballafletcher on Thursday would see them clinch the title. A win of any description would see them pip Foxdale to the league’s second promotion spot, even if Dale beat Douglas and District in the last game of the league campaign.
