The Manx International Football Alliance has lined up another friendly for its Ellan Vannin side ahead of the summer’s ConIFA World Cup.
Last month Chris Bass Sr’s men drew 1-1 with the Yorkshire International Football Association in the latter’s first ever game.
Next, Bass Sr’s charges will take on the England Universities’ men’s team at Sandbach United Football Club on Sunday, April 29.
The scholars will be using the game in Cheshire as a warm-up for the forthcoming Home Nations Universities tournament. Their squad is likely to include several that combine their studies with playing high up the non-league pyramid.
The game in Cheshire will allow Bass Sr more playing time with his squad ahead of the Paddy Power-sponsored World Cup which starts in London at the end of May.
Ellan Vannin has been drawn in Group One where they will face hosts Barawa, Tamil Eelam and Cascadia.
The Manx kick off their campaign against the latter side from North America on May 31 at Sutton United’s Gander Green Lane ground. That game kicks off at midday.
