St George’s remain 15 points clear at the top of the Canada Life Premier League after they edged past Rushen 3-2 at Glencrutchery Road on Saturday.

Geordies only need to clinch three points from next week’s game with Corinthians to secure another league title.

Nearest rivals St Mary’s and Corinthians also both won against the division’s bottom two.

The Saints beat Union Mills 3-1 at Garey Mooar while Corinthians defeated already relegated Ayre 14-1.

In the top flight’s other two games St John’s beat Colby 2-0, while Douglas Athletic overcame Ramsey 5-1.

In JCK Division Two, second-place Castletown came from behind to beat Malew 2-1 in the southern derby to keep their promotion hopes alive.

Foxdale are four points behind Town after Kevin Pulman’s late goal gave them a point in a 1-1 draw with hosts Pulrose.

Elsewhere Onchan remain in the Paul Henry Gold Cup hunt having triumphed 5-2 at Governor’s Athletic.
