For the second successive week the Manx football programme was hit by wet weather.

In the end only eight fixtures survived the water-logging, three of them coming in the top-flight.

St Mary’s and St George’s both secured their places in the draw for the Railway Cup semi-finals with big victories.

The former returned to top of the Canada Life Premier League standings with a 15-0 win at bottom side Douglas Royal.

Geordies join their fellow Saints, Peel and Corinthians in the hat for the cup draw, after beating Douglas Athletic 12-0 at Glencrutchery Road.

Rushen United were victors in the other top-tier fixture beating St John’s 5-1 at Croit Lowey.

In JCK Division Two, Colby’s return to form continued at the Station Fields. The Moonlighters beat southern rivals Malew 2-0 thanks to an own goal and a late strike from Andy Baker. The result denied the latter side the opportunity to return to the top four.

Malew’s fellow promotions hopefuls Ramsey also dropped points as they were held to a 3-3 draw by another of the division’s form sides Gymns. Max Stokoe hit a hat-trick for the Tromode outfit who are now unbeaten in four.

St Mary’s kept up Manx senior men’s football’s only 100 per cent record with a 3-1 win over Douglas Royal in Canada Life Combination One.

The day’s remaining two games took place in JCK Combination Two where Ayre United beat Foxdale 3-1 and last season’s champions RYCOB triumphed 4-1 at Governor’s Athletic.
