RYCOB all but clinched the JCK Combination Two title on Wednesday evening without kicking a ball.

The northerners currently lead by 13 points at the head of the standings after nearest rivals Onchan were held to a 3-3 draw by Gymns. Both teams have four games left to play.

Youthie were meant to play the only team that can mathematically catch them, Malew, last night but that was postponed.

The southerners have only played 15 games, but would need to beat Youthie and win their other eight remaining games comfortably to deny RYCOB the club’s first silverware in 26 years.

The race for the Canada Life Combination One title looks set to go to the wire.

Rushen United remain top, but their lead has been cut to four points after DHSOB beat Douglas Athletic 5-0 on Wednesday thanks to a hat-trick from Craig Stewart and other goals from Nigel Moody and Dean France.

Reigning champions Old Boys can cut the Spaniards’ lead further if they win the game in hand they have over the Croit Lowey outfit.

Corinthians all but wrapped up a top-three finish with a 4-2 win at Peel, while St Mary’s were the night’s big winners beating Braddan 10-1.
