The 2020-21 Manx football season will get underway on Saturday, August 15.

The Isle of Man Football Association had applied to the English FA to allowed league football to resume in the island next month in light of the island’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

Initially the English FA declined the request, indicating that the Manx season would begin in line with the English leagues in September.

However, the IoMFA appealed and, in a short statement issued this morning (Monday), said: ’The Isle of Man Football Association have received confirmation from The FA that the domestic season can commence on the Isle of Man on Saturday, August 15.

’Fixtures will be issued in due course to all IoMFA member club secretaries.’
