Isle of Man Football Association’s senior representative team manager Paul Jones has confirmed his squad for next week’s friendly with Wolverhampton Wanderers under-23s.

The Men will travel over to the West Midlands - via Liverpool on a day trip - on Tuesday, October 23 for a friendly against the Premier League outfit’s younger side as part of their preparations for next year’s inter-island competition on Anglesey.

Football will not feature in the 2019 NatWest Island Games in Gibraltar.

The game will either take place at Wolves’ academy/training ground or at nearby AFC Telford.

There are four newcomers to the squad, namely St Mary’s midfielder Declan Cummins, Peel duo Rhys Oates and Matthew Skillicorn, plus Douglas Athletic goalkeeper Matthew Quirk.

Cummins is one of four St Mary’s players in the squad alongside Alex Harrison, Frank Jones and Jack McVey.

Peel and Corinthians lead the way with no fewer than five players each in the squad, in the shape of Daniel Bell, Lee Gale, Tom Wood and the aforementioned Oates and Skillicorn for the westerners and Ryan Burns, Sean Doyle, Cameron Lee, Dan Simpson and Stephen Whitley for the Whites, while Sam Caine is the sole St George’s representative.

The squad will be accompanied by coaches Paul Jones, Lee Dixon and David Cherry with physiotherapist Ian Kelly.
