The Isle of Man Football Association’s under-18 side continue its latest County Youth Cup run at midday on Saturday afternoon.
The Manx teenagers make the 650-mile round trip to Norwich to face holders Norfolk in the competition’s third round.
It’s the second successive season that Lewis Qualtrough’s charges have been drawn against the East Anglians, having lost 1-2 at the Bowl when the pair met in last campaign’s quarter-finals in January.
It is also a second away game in a row for the Manx after Shropshire were defeated 1-2 in Shrewsbury back in October.
Norfolk, who edged past Cornwall after extra time in the last round, will be another tough test for the ambitious island teens.
Qualtrough said earlier this week: ’We know a bit of what to expect from Norfolk after the game last season.
’They’ll be well organised and a tough side to break down.
’After they won the competition last year we are expecting a very confident outfit, but our lads are a confident bunch too and we’ve been training hard to try to perform as best as possible on the day.
’It would be great to get through and back into a quarter-final.’
Qualtrough is without Michael United goalkeeper Nathan Teare for the trip after he suffered a broken foot last week in a friendly with Douglas and District.
Marown’s in-form youngster Harry Horbury will deputise for Teare as he aims to replicate his club form for the Premier League outfit.
The squad are once again led by St George’s Lewis Bridson, the full-back being one of seven from the reigning top-flight champions in the squad.
Myerscough College-based pair Sid Batty and Jack Camarda will also travel to Norfolk having been in the squad that triumphed in Shrewsbury.
Coming into the travelling party after sitting out the trip to Shropshire are Peel’s Danny Lane and Onchan’s Sam Baines. Lane has scored four goals for the westerners’ second string since a summer switch from Colby and will add further firepower to the squad.
If the Manx secure the win this weekend, the last-eight stage ties are due to be played early in the new year.
