The GH Corlett Woods Cup draw has thrown up a couple of intriguing semi-final clashes which take place this weekend.

Cup and league favourites Pulrose United welcome Foxdale to Springfield Road while a northern derby takes place in Andreas where Ayre United host Ramsey.

Pully remain well on course for a possible league and cup treble but will not have things all their own way against a talented Foxdale side. The latter have had an inconsistent start to 2019 but back-to-back wins over Union Mills in recent weeks suggest the Billy Goat Park outfit are finding form.

Form sometimes goes out the window in derbies, which is something Ayre will be hoping for this weekend when they host their northern neighbours. On paper, Ramsey will start as firm favourites as they sit some six places and 19 points better off in the league, but the Tangerines have improved of late and may just fancy causing an upset.

Away from the cup, there are also two games taking place in JCK Division Two on Saturday afternoon, namely between Onchan v Malew and Union Mills v Michael United.

The former match promises to be a closer contest and, in a quirk of the fixture list, the pair only played out the reverse last weekend when Malew won by the odd goal in five at Clagh Vane. Expect a similarly close battle which could go either way, but the southerners will start as favourites.

The other game should be more straightfoward, with Mills heavy favourites.
