Ramsey’s stay in the Canada Life Premier League could be all but over after this weekend’s round of fixtures in the top flight.

The northerners remain rooted to the foot of the table six points from safety with three games left to play, beginning with a tough trip to Peel.

The latter go into this game on the back of a morale-boosting victory over Corinthians (see above) thanks to Tom Wood’s dramatic injury-time winner which all but ends the Whites’ hopes of the title.

Should the Sunset City side beat Ramsey and, even if Braddan and Douglas Royal both lose, the northerners would still need to beat Rushen and DHSOB in the final two games just to stand a chance of staying up.

Royal face a trip to Blackberry Lane to face an Old Boys side who are unbeaten in their last seven league games.

The Whites gave leaders St George’s a fright on Tuesday, twice taking the lead before eventually losing 7-2 to the champions-elect, and therefore they can cause DHSOB a few problems.

Geordies will be expected to take another step towards the title when they make the very short journey to neighbours Braddan, while challengers Corinthians face a potentially tricky match at home to St John’s.

The final game in the Premier League is something of a dead rubber between Douglas Athletic and Laxey, although the Pinks can ensure eighth place with a win.

Two games take place in JCK Division Two, with title hopefuls Foxdale facing a tough trip to RYCOB while Marown will be expected to get the better of Michael United.
