Ciaran McNulty has spoken of his delight at surpassing the 300-goal mark in the Premier League.

The St George’s striker reached the landmark in style last weekend when he bagged no fewer than six goals in his side’s 7-2 victory at Laxey in the top flight.

In doing so, the former Gymns man became the first player to achieve the milestone in the Premier League era since the division was rebranded in 2007.

In that time, McNulty has scored against every single team which has played in the top flight, with only five sides escaping his wrath: Braddan, Douglas and District, Governor’s Athletic, Onchan and Malew - all of whom had not played in the Premier League until Braddan’s promotion this year.

Of the 19 clubs he has faced in the division, he has enjoyed the most success against Union Mills having scored no fewer than 29 goals against them.

The next team is Laxey with 25 who have the unenviable record of having conceded goals to McNulty in every single season so far, including the aforementioned double hat-trick last weekend.

Colby have fared best with only one goal against them in three seasons, while the classy striker has also plundered four goals against his current Geordies side when at previous club Gymns.

Speaking to the Manx Independent, McNulty commented: ’It’s a great achievement to reach the 300-goal barrier.

’I would like to thank all my current and former team-mates/management at Gymns and St George’s for helping me achieve this.

’A couple of goals that stand out for me over the years include scoring the equalising goal in a 1-1 draw away to Peel from the halfway line, in a game which we could have quite easily been 5-0 down.

’A goal I always remember scoring for St George’s was a free-kick away to Old Boys that completed a hat-trick and helped me clinch my first league Golden Boot.

’I don’t really set myself targets but I suppose if I had to aim for something it would be to try and reach the 400 mark!’
