The Isle of Man men’s representative team got off to a winning start in the Ynys Mon Inter-Island Football Tournament with a 7-1 victory over Hitra on Monday.
Leading 3-1 at the break courtesy of strikes from Furo Davies (2) and Stephen Whitley, the Men pulled further clear in the second half when Lee Gale and substitutes Ashley Higginbotham (2) and Jacob Crook all got on the scoresheet.
The men’s team will play their final group match on Tuesday evening against Alderney at Llanerghcymedd FC when a win will see the Manx finish in pole position.
A full match report will appear in this week’s Manx Independent, on sale Thursday morning.
