Following her success with Lassen College in California, Kiera Morgan is going Stateside again having been offered a football scholarship at Oklahoma.

Kiera’s American dream appeared to have ended in December after finishing group winners and reaching a second successive play-off with Lassen College, only to be denied again at this stage.

After returning home to the Isle of Man that same month, the 21-year-old from Douglas took a break which meant she didn’t complete her final semester.

However, just over two weeks ago she received an email from a coach at Mid-Christian University in Oklahoma advising her to get in contact.

She called the following day and it soon became apparent that Kiera had been highly recommended following her previous stint in the US and the coach was keen to discuss the options available to her.

Kiera is eligible to play with a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) university in August but in order to play at this level, she needs to complete her studies to meet the required education units.

At present, she doesn’t have the units required, but the coach has co-operated and offered her a 100 per cent scholarship for the first semester.

This means she will be making her way Stateside again before March 7 so that she can complete the rest of her studies in order to become eligible to play at this level in the summer.

As it is currently the football off-season, Kiera will also be training with a semi-pro team in Oklahoma City so that she is prepared to meet her best potential before the season starts.

’I am excited and extremely grateful for this opportunity I have been given and look forward to heading back out to the States to pursue what I love to do most!’ said a delighted Kiera.
