Greg Norris has been named as the Canada Life Premier League Player of the Month for November.

The Rushen United midfielder has enjoyed a flying start to his Manx football career since breaking into the Spaniards’ first team earlier this season, and his rise to prominence hasn’t gone unnoticed by Eric Clague’s esteemed player ratings panel.

Norris caught the eye with a series of impressive displays in the engine room for the Croit Lowey side, most notably shining against Ramsey and Douglas Athletic to help his side qualify for this season’s Railway Cup.

With 8.5 points, he was half a point ahead of Rushen team-mate Alex Maitland in the monthly standings who narrowly missed out on his second Player of the Month accolade of the season, having picked up the October award.

Maitland slots into joint second in the November ratings alongside St Mary’s star Jack McVey who also garnered eight points for the league leaders, meaning he has taken over at the top of the overall standings for the season on 18 points.

McVey lies 1.5 points ahead of both Maitland and previous leader Max Murley of Laxey, while the top five is completed by Corinthians’ Stephen Whitley and Laxey’s Jordan Cooper, the latter picking up the Young Player of the Month award as his excellent season for the Miners continues apace.
