Isle of Man FA senior men’s team manager Paul Jones has named a squad of 22 for Wednesday evening’s friendly with Brentford B at the Bowl.
The island selection includes several youngsters as Jones continues to shape his squad for June’s inter-island tournament in Anglesey.
Among the talented teens who will be given their chance to shine against the Championship outfit’s second string are St George’s trio Lewis Bridson, Joel Ibanez and Jay Skelcher-Maxwell, Douglas Royal winger Jacob Crook, Corinthians counter-part Luke Murray and Castletown starlet Jack Camarda.
There are, however, a few notable absentees from the squad.
Douglas Athletic goalkeeper Matty Quirk is sidelined by injury as is Sam Caine, Dan Hattersley and Peel winger Lee Gale who broke his rib in the westerners’ recent FA Cup semi-final victory over St George’s.
Corinthians striker Sean Doyle is also away for the mid-week clash meaning club-mate Ste Whitley and Rhys Oates are likely to link-up in attack.
The aforementioned duo are part of 11 that were in squad for January’s game with League of Ireland outfit Derry City.
Keepers Dean Kearns and Glenn Walker return to the fold as do St George’s striker Furo Davies and Corinthians centre-back Cameron Lee who both missed the 2-0 defeat against the Candy Stripers.
As with Derry, Brentford B will provide tough opposition. The Bees’ reserves don’t play in a league, but are regularly in action against under-23 and u21 teams from clubs across Europe and beyond.
In the last month Lars Friis’s side has played Genoa, Nice and New York City.
The Brentford squad is made up of a number of age-group internationals from the likes of Finland, Latvia and Denmark. Several were in action during the recent international break.
Kick-off is 7pm and tickets cost £5 for adults and £2 for concessions.
They can be bought in advance from the FA offices in the lead up to the game.
