Tia Lisy has been selected to attend a two-day Scotland women’s under-17s national training camp in Edinburgh next week.
The former St Ninian’s pupil has had a very successful 2017-18 season with Manchester United u16s girls team winning the league.
Tia was also part of the Lancashire u16 side that won the National County Cup.
Ahead of the get-together which starts on Tuesday, Tia said: ’I am so happy at being invited to attend training camp.
’I’ve had so many great experiences playing for Manchester United and Lancashire and the opportunity to play football at national level will be another fantastic experience.’
Isle of Man FA women’s and girls’ football development officer Amy Beggs-Cairney added: ’Tia is a true inspiration to girls playing football in the island, leading by example and showing that hard work pays off. Since getting her first contract in 2016 with Manchester United Tia has spent countless hours along with family travelling to train and play.
’The dedication she has shown has paid off and getting the opportunity to play at a national level is an incredible achievement. Well done Tia!’
