It’s as you at the top of the Canada Life Premier League after four of the top five teams all won on Saturday afternoon.
Corinthians were the biggest winners of the day as they thrashed Colby 9-0 at Ballafletcher. Sean Doyle and Stephen Whitley both led the way for the Whites as they bagged hat-tricks and were joined on the scoresheet by Dan Simpson, Ryan Burns and an own goal.
Peel were too strong for relegation-threatened Braddan as the westerners scored seven goals without reply at Douglas Road.
Talented youngster Billy Kennaugh helped himself to a hat-trick while there was a brace for Lee Gale before Aaron Costain and Jonny Shields completed the rout.
Champions St George’s maintained their quest to defend the title with a high-scoring 8-2 win over bottom-of-the-table Ramsey.
There was no doubting the star of the show as Golden Boot contender Ciaran McNulty scored no fewer than five goals, while Sean Quaye, Joe Quayle and Johnny Myers rounded off the scoring for the Saints. Martin Torr and Wael Mohammed netted for the northerners.
In the only other top flight game to go ahead on Saturday, Rushen United got the better of St Mary’s 5-3 at Croit Lowey.
Mike Williams scored twice while further goals from Harry Best, Josh Kelly and Craig Murphy ensured the points stayed down south, despite the best efforts of the Bowl outfit who found the back of the net via strikes from Nathan Halsall, Steven Priestnal and Karl Clark.
In JCK Division Two there was a shock at the Memorial Playing Fields in Crosby where previous leaders and title favourites Pulrose United went down to Marown.
Stuart Morris put Dave Brew’s hosts ahead in the first half, only for Marc Priestnal to restore parity for Pully just after the restart.
However, with only three minutes remaining Morris struck again with the decisive goal to inflict only United’s second defeat of the season.
Onchan hit back from two goals down to snatch a last-gasp draw with Malew in a match switched to Colby’s Station Fields ground.
Dean Kinley was the star of the show for Malew as he helped himself to a hat-trick - including two penalties - before Onchan were reduced to 10 men when Kraig Marsh was given his marching orders after seeing a goal disallowed.
Despite the numerical disadvantage, the O’s kept plugging away and, after Paul Morris had halved the deficit with a header, captain Mark Rees fired home a 93rd-minute equaliser to ensure a share of the spoils.
That result allowed RYCOB to leapfrog Malew into the top four after Youthie thrashed Gymns 10-3 at Scoill ree Gorree, moving to within four points of third-placed Onchan with a game in hand.
Johnny Lund netted a four-goal haul while Aidan Cummins also helped himself to a hat-trick and Declan Cummins, Harry Weatherill and Chris Robinson netted the other goals. Adam Killip, Tom Callin and Callum Peat responded for the visitors from Tromode.
The other game in the second division saw Ayre United record their fourth win of the season with a 4-2 success at home to Governor’s Athletic.
