Ciaran McNulty continues to lead the way in the all-time Canada Life Premier League goalscoring charts.
The St George’s striker has taken his seasonal tally to 17 goals - one ahead of team-mate Furo Davies - to move onto 307 strikes in total. This puts him 18 ahead of nearest challenger Steven Priestnal (289) who has netted 13 times for St Mary’s so far this season.
The only other player who has scored more than 200 times in the Manx Premier League is McNulty’s Geordies team-mate Calum Morrissey who currently lies on 222, although injury has meant he has only found the target six times thus far in the 2017-18 season.
Chris Bass Jr recently struck an 88th-minute equaliser for St George’s to salvage a last-gasp 3-3 draw against St John’s and in doing so the winger notched his landmark 150th goal in the Premier League which puts him sixth in the all-time list (fifth if you exclude own goals).
Yet another Glencrutchery Road star is not far off reaching the same landmark, with captain Frank Jones’ strike against Laxey last week bringing the former St Mary’s man to within five goals of Bass Jr.
There were also landmark goals for another two players in recent weeks, with Peel’s Daniel Bell and DHSOB’s Darren Hudgeon reaching 100 goals each thanks to strikes against Douglas Royal and Douglas Athletic respectively.
One player who looks set to join them in the 100 club is Geordies’ Sam Caine who is now on 99 goals.
