Ashley Webster has been crowned Canada Life Premier League Player of the Month for February.

The Peel striker, who is leaving the island next month, continued his fine season in front of goal for the westerners.

While the Sunset City side only played two league games during the month, the former Laxey and Ramsey frontman plundered four goals thanks to doubles against the Miners and Douglas Athletic.

In doing so, he took his seasonal tally to 33 goals in the Premier League alone and also impressed Eric Clague’s ratings panel to garner a score of six points.

That total edged him past three players all on 5.5, namely Chris Cannell, Joey Morling and Craig Murphy.

Despite Corinthians labouring to several defeats in recent weeks, Cannell has been in impressive form at the heart of the Whites’ defence, even grabbing a rare goal during his side’s 7-1 demolition of Colby at the Station Fields.

One of those aforementioned defeats for Corinthians came at the hands of St George’s who romped to a 7-0 victory at Ballafletcher, a match in which Morling scored twice to help Geordies seal a record seventh successive league title.

As a result of his impressive performances, Morling has been named as the Canada Life Young Player of the Month of February.

Murphy is currently enjoying his best goalscoring season to date and took his tally to 20 goals for DHSOB during their 3-1 win over Corinthians last weekend.

Chris Bass Jr still leads the way in the overall standings with 39 points, four ahead of nearest challenger Alex Harrison (St Mary’s).
