There’s quite a busy calendar of two-wheel events over the festive period.

The annual Geoff Quine Memorial ride takes place on Wednesday, December 27 starting from the NSC main gates on the New Castletown Road at 9.15am.

It is a totally social ride in the middle and south of the island to suit all standards, winding up for refreshments at Silverdale Cafe, where the recipient of the Geoff Quine Award will be announced.

l With the Ballagarey/Glen Vine section of the Heritage Trail open over Christmas, Team RL360’s popular Family Fun Ride will also go ahead the same day, Wednesday.

It will start from the Quarter Bridge end of the trail at 10am and follow the disused railway track to Crosby Playing Fields, where refreshments (bacon baps etc) will be served in the Millennium Hall.
