A total of 255 competitors have entered this Sunday’s End to End Walk, sponsored by Ramsey Bakery.

Organised by Isle of Man Veteran Athletes’ Club, the 39.2-mile event hugs the contours of the island’s west coast from Point of Ayre to the Sound.

The start is at 8am and the leading contenders are likely to be tackling the final steep climb of the Howe around 2pm.

Last year’s top three of Richard Gerrard, Hannah Hunter and James Quirk have once again entered, but the one to watch could well be two-time Parish Walk winner Liam Parker who is making his debut in the event.

Bizarrely, it is the first long-distance race walk other than the Parish that he is entered.

Chris Burn (fifth last year) and former winner Michael Readshaw (sixth in 2019), will also be in the mix, as will Jayne Farquhar, Adam Killip, Dave Walker and Sophie Dvorakova.
