The Children’s Centre’s Granite Mann off-road triathlon takes place this Sunday at Cringle Plantation, starting at 9.30am.

A total of 28 individuals and 21 teams have entered the event, sponsored by local law firm Quinn Legal.

It begins with a 400m swim in the reservoir, followed by a 10km cycle and a 5km run using scenic tracks in the plantation.

New this year is Granite Mann Mini, a taster triathlon for those who want to attempt easier courses. This event starts at 1.30pm.

Late online entry is available until today (Thursday).

Notable entries include last year’s winner Ryan Downey and leading cyclist Will Draper, along with Chris Looney and Jonathan Piggin, but only one female, Olivia Newstead.
