The winter BMX racing series got off to a great start at Ramsey’s Mooragh Promenade course on Sunday.

Racing got underway with the six-and-unders and 10-and-under girls, with some great racing from start to finish.

Jasmine Dillon took the girls’ race, with Africah-Rose Cleator second and Daisy Teare third, while Lucas Garrett racked up four wins from Sam Horisk and Charlie Parish in the boys.

There was again good racing in the sevens and eights, with race leads changing in each race. The A final was one of the day, with victory going to Finbar McSevney from Oliver Herdman and George Long.

The nine and 10s saw good racing throughout the heats, continuing into the final where Eddie Dillon was pushed hard by Joey Huyton until the latter lost front-wheel grip and ended up on the ground. Brad Le Geyt took second with Cameron Hounsell third, Joey remounting cross the line in sixth.

The 11s to 14s produced more wheel-to-wheel action in every race, with Chloe Dillon the only girl in the group showing she can race as hard as the boys. Danny Ball took the honours in all four races, with Chloe second overall and James Huyton third.

The super class was next with ages from 15 to 50+. Unfortunately, Matty Boyde took a big fall in race two, bringing a brief halt to the action. When it resumed, Jon Huyton took the overall win from Wayne Garrett and Dave Le Geyt.
