Lizzie Holden warmed up for the Commonwealth Games by producing a courageous performance at the prestigious Tour of Flanders on Sunday.
The Trek Drops rider delivered a gutsy ride during the 153.3-kilometre one-day race in western Belgium, launching several attacks after the infamous Mur de Gerardsbergen cobblestone section.
As a result of these attacks, the 20-year-old Manx woman received some good exposure on the live TV coverage and also helped her team-mates.
She eventually crossed the line in a good 57th place, only five minutes and 40 seconds behind the winner. There were 74 finishers from 150 starters.
