Suntera Global
Ballasalla Bravo 30,
Marbree Missfits A 14
This match started off tentatively from both teams, with the first quarter ending only 6-4 to Ballasalla.
But Balla quickly found their rhythm in attack with some excellent feeds into Kate Tebay (GS) and Mairi Harrison (GA), therefore they stretched their lead to 16-6 by the end of the second period.
The Missfits defenders didn’t make it easy for them though, with Hollie Quayle (GD) and Lisa Quilliam (GK) picking up some great turnovers.
But ultimately the pressure applied in the Missfits attacking circle by the formidable Balla defence of player of the match Ashley Hall (GD), Clare Barks (GK/WD) and Zoe Kirkham (GK) proved too much for them.
As a result, despite a great effort, Missfits narrowly missed out on half points with the final score ending 30-14.

Division Two
Castletown Celts 38,
Route 1 Volts 16
The start of the match between Route 1 and Castletown Celts saw the latter take to the court with great determination.
Some excellent teamwork shone through, with interceptions from their defence which were then capitalised on as the ball was played down to the shooting duo of GS Louise Skelly and GA Sarah Cutts.
Unfortunately for Route 1, despite the defensive efforts from Rachel Caine and Emily Christian, it was Castletown who ended the first quarter in charge 14-1.
The second period saw changes for Castletown as the first of two new additions to the team took to the court, Macy Hillier’s effortless play proving to be a great advantage for the Celts side in the shooting circle.
But Route 1 were also able to get into their stride which resulted in the quarter becoming more evenly matched, with Route 1’s attack feeding their circle and their shooting being led by their captain and GS Sarah Morgan as the period ended 20-6.
In the second half, Celts’ defence worked tirelessly with Holly Renshaw, Holly Charmer and second new addition Phoebe Roosen proving to have the upper hand.
This continuous fighting for every ball, resulted in turnovers which were then being brought back down court - led by Castletown C Rebecca O’Neill - and back into the shooting circle.
Some great netball was played from both teams, but Celts were able to extend their lead and the match ended 38-16, with player of the match going once again to a well-deserved Holly Charmer.
