Vikings A have held the lead in the Rossborough Mixed Premier League since the first weekend with a fine win over their nearest challengers Ramsey A.
Now the westerners could win the title this weekend when they face Valkyrs A, should Ramsey A somehow lose to Bacchas B.
But Ramsey will be hoping Valkyrs A can take a point or two away from Vikings so they can go level at the top of the league. As such, with Vikings A playing both Valkyrs A and Bacchas A over the next two weeks, this league is still very much up for grabs.
Elsewhere Valkyrs B will be hoping to pick up a miracle win against Vikings B to ensure they go into the final weekend level with Bacchas B at the bottom of the table and stave off relegation.
Bacchas A face Castletown Celts knowing that a win would cement their third place in the league, while Celts will want to continue to prove their top tier credentials and take both points on offer themselves.
In Rossborough Mixed Division One, Valkyrs C hold a four-point advantage in their title charge having only conceded two goals and scoring 23 themselves.
Should they pick up even a point this weekend, it would guarantee them promotion and few would bet against them coming away with both points on offer when they face Castletown Cammags.
The latter side, despite a difficult season, have picked up over the past few weeks and will prove a challenge for the westerners, but Valkyrs are the outright favourites to win.
Elsewhere Vikings C take on Castletown Cushags. The former proved last week they have what it takes in this league after defeating the hugely-impressive Harlequins A and will certainly be challenging for second in the league. Vikings will also be hoping that Harlequins drop points when they face a strong Bacchas Colts side who still have designs on second place themselves.
Last but not least, Ramsey Ravens take on Castletown Southerners in a match that Ravens will be desperate to win to aid their survival in this division. Ramsey are certainly a better side than people give them credit for and they will be hopeful of causing an upset when they face Castletown’s second string.
Rossborough Mixed Division Two could see a winner crowned if Vikings D can overcome their nearest rivals Ramsey Rookies and Valkyrs D drop even a point against Vikings D. In reality, it is likely to come down to the final week with Vikings D carrying a two-point lead into the last weekend of fixtures.
Vikings will be the favourites to beat Rookies but they will certainly be made to work for any points they may take home, while Valkyrs D should continue to put pressure on Valkyrs D as they go into their game against Vikings E as overriding favourites.
Elsewhere Bacchas C take on Castletown Cosney and Castletown Carrick search for their first points of the season when they face Harlequins B.
Despite being in the driving seat currently, Vikings will be hunting for two points when they face Valkyrs in the Rossborough Mixed Under-16s League and, with the westerners still in with an outside chance of the title, they will be going all out for the win.
Harlequins are breathing down their necks level on points and take on Bacchas A who only sit one point behind the top two and the result of this game could have a huge bearing on the title destination in the final weekend.
Castletown A will be hoping the teams above them slip up when they take on their own second team as they only sit one point from the top two as well. Elsewhere Ramsey Rogues and Rascals take on Bacchas B in the north of the island, with both sides hunting down the top five teams in the final two weeks.
This league is unbelievably close with five sides all sitting within two points of each other and, with two points for a win, this division could be blown wide open this weekend.
