Alan Wade and Mark Riley teamed up to secure the Isle of Man’s fourth gold of the Gibraltar Island Games on Monday morning.
The clay shooters won the Automatic Ball Trap competition, having been lying second in the four-round competition overnight.
Wade and Riley both shot well, the latter man racking up the competition’s highest individual score of 93 with rounds of 23, 24, 23 and 23, which bodes well for Wednesday and Thursday’s individual competition.
Wade also scored consistently, shooting 22, 22, 22 and 24 to finish with a score of 90.
The pair’s combined total gave them the win by a single clay from Guernsey pair Darren Burtenshaw and Alexander Williams.
The latter duo finished on 182 which was the same as fellow Channel Islanders Jersey, but took the silver on countback.
* Rifle shooters Matthew Roosen and Tracey Skelton finished eighth in the ISSF 50m Prone Smallbore Rifle team event on Monday with a score of 1209.9.
