A late flurry of 14 last-day medals wasn’t enough for the Isle of Man to overhaul Jersey at the top of the Gibraltar Island Games standings.
The Manx team’s final total for the NatWest-sponsored competition was 29 gold, 22 silver and 17 bronze.
The Channel Islanders grabbed four more golds to secure the bragging rights at the 18th staging of the biennial Games, the Manx having topped the table in Gotland two years ago.
After Friday evening’s closing ceremony at the Europa Point Complex, team Isle of Man will begin to head home tomorrow (Saturday) no doubt looking ahead to more success in Guernsey 2021.
