Another day, another raft of Island Games medals for team Isle of Man?
Well that’s the hope anyway as the Gibraltar Games continue on Tuesday.
Island squash number one Dave Norman will be going for gold around 10am (BST) when he faces number one seed Cameron Stafford.
The Caymans player is yet to drop a game en route to the final and will be a tough test for Norman who edged an epic semi-final encounter with Gibraltar’s Anthony Brindle 13-11, 7-11, 4-11, 11-2, 11-13 on Monday afternoon.
Norman’s team-mates Oscar Hill and Thomas Whiteway will play-off for 15th and 19th respectively.
The Isle of Man’s men’s basketball team will be looking to bounce back from two heavy defeats at the hands of the reigning champions when they take to the court on Tuesday morning.
Paul Ellison’s men’s side lost to 127-50 to the Caymans on Monday teatime and face the Isle of Wight at 9.15am (BST) in a game they must win if they are to have any chance of a semi-final spot.
Elsewhere on the third full day of competition, Tamzin Fayle and Megan Lockwood begin their bids for shot putt glory at 3.30pm (BST).
Also at the Lathbury Sporting Complex, David Mullarkey and Rhys Owen will go in the men’s 800m final and Ashleigh Lachenicht in the women’s 400m equivalent.
Rachael Franklin will be looking to wrestle back her 1,500m title at 6.15pm (BST), the 2015 champion having finished second in 2017.
Fellow Manxie Phoebe Coates also runs in that race.
Women’s athletics team captain Hannah Riley rounds out the day’s action at the track at 7.30pm (BST) in the 100m hurdles.
Cycling’s time trial also takes place on Tuesday evening with a spectacular finish on the top of Gibraltar’s rock planned.
The Manx team will be looking to build on the four medals they won in Sunday’s town crit when the action gets under way at 4.30pm (BST).
After a blistering start to their competition on Monday, the islnd’s swimmers will be aiming to climb the sport’s medal table - they currently lie in third. Heats and finals take place throughout the day.
Elsewhere there’s singles and doubles action in badminton and tennis while the Isle of Man’s sailors, judo players and shooters continue their respective campaigns.
