The Isle of Man Junior Road Cycling Team has a three-year sponsorship deal with local trust and corporate services provider, Equiom.

The six-rider team is made up of a group of talented 16 to 18-year-old males, namely first year juniors Jimmy Bostock, Adam Kelly, Harry Cain, Ben Christian and Lucas Mudie, along with second year junior Daniel Scarffe.

Under the management of ex-professional cyclists, Andrew Roche and Rob Holden, the Equiom Isle of Man Junior Cycling Team is now formally registered with the British Cycling Federation.

With the support of IoM Cycling Association, and in addition to Equiom, the team is supported by local cycling retailer, Bikestyle, which recently announced a substantial expansion of its business in lower Douglas.

The team will have the additional support of Isle of Man Steam Packet Company and Motor Mall - via its support to the Isle of Man Cycling Association - with the provision of a team car.

All of the riders have enjoyed a successful youth career with an impressive array of palmares.

The team will primarily compete in the nine rounds of the Peter Buckley Series (National Junior Road Championship) which consists of a mixture of day races and stage races across the UK.

There will also be a development programme and these will be additional stage races across the UK and Ireland.

In addition to this, a number of local events will be built in.

Confirming the sponsorship deal, Equiom’s managing director, Aidan Davin, said: ’Isle of Man Cycling Association is a long-established organisation dedicated to developing young riders in the island.

’The riders within the team have an impressive record and I am looking forward to supporting their development.

’At Equiom, we are driven by the same values of hard work and dedication that these riders demonstrate. We are proud to support local initiatives and I wish the team the best of luck in all its endeavours.

’With the sponsorship of the island’s junior team and the announcement of the 2017 HSBC National Road Race Championships being hosted by the island this June, it makes for a very exciting year for Equiom to be involved in the sport.’
