Laa Columb Killey’s annual ’marathon’ takes place this evening (Thursday), starting from the field opposite Arbory School at 7pm.

It will be preceded by junior sports from 4.30pm. The marathon is closer to six miles than 26.2. Enter on the night, it is free.

l The final round of the Sweeney Todd men’s hairdressers-sponsored Dave Phillips running series takes place tomorrow evening, Friday.

The Western AC events start at 7pm opposite Empire Garage showroom on the promenade with races for all ages from under-nine years upwards.

The adult runners are on the full two-mile headlands course (choice of two or four miles). Sign on from 6.15. It will be followed by a presentation and buffet in Peel Sailing Club later.
