Pierre-Yves Bian added his name to the Manx Grand Prix’s illustrious list of Newcomers A race winners on Tuesday afternoon.

The 27-year-old from France brought home Yamaha R6 16.569 seconds ahead of Sam Mousley on corrected time at the end of the four-lap race, the latter producing the contest’s fastest lap of 116.19 mph (19:29.050) on his way to runners-up spot.

Alun Brooks overcame Michael Mace on the last lap to secure the final podium spot.

The only Manxman in the race, Michael Brew, finished seventh.

In the concurrently run Newcomers’ B race, Mark Kirkby secured a comfortable victory of more than six minutes. Robert Cairns and David Stiff filled the other two podium spots.

The three-lap C race was won by Andrew Jackson by over a minute from Adrian Skaife. Pete Gibson was a further 17.442 seconds behind in third.
