Jed Etchells has won the ACU British Enduro Championship title for a second time despite a non-finish in the last round of the series in Mid-Wales at the weekend.

The St Mark’s man arrived at Builth Wells with a useful points’ advantage over KTM’s Jack Edmondson and, although the latter won round 11 of the campaign on Saturday, Etchells scored enough points with second place to secure the title.

This handed the Motofit Racing Enduro Team a British title in its debut season. But it was a good job Jed had the title sealed as he hit mechanical issues with the 300cc Sherco in poor conditions on Sunday, resulting in a non-finish. Only three points separated him and Edmondson in the final standings.

‘It’s been a long tough season with the new team and new bike but we managed to get the job done,’ said former the former Junior World Enduro Champion. ‘A massive thank you to all the Moto-Fit Racing team and sponsors.’

Jack Keenan finished ninth and eighth on the 450 Fast Eddy Racing Triumph to end up seventh in his first crack at the elite championship, second in the E2 class to Harry Edmondson.

Jamie McCanney, who won round one of the series back in March but missed several rounds with a knee injury, was 10th in the final standings.

Jack’s big brother Will Keenan won the veteran Over-35 class on his 450 Gas Gas. The former rugby pro really came to form late season – winning the last four rounds back-to-back – to finish 23 points ahead of closest rival Michael Williams.

No locals contested the open expert class last weekend, but Ashley Kelly finished 24th in the final standings having contested the first three rounds.

Stanley Cubbon did brilliantly in his debut season at national level, finishing fourth and second on two wet days to end up third in the final standing on his MS Racing 200cc Beta, first E2.

Right behind him in fourth was fellow Manxie Orry Millward on the 450 KTM, second E2.

Despite a high-speed spill on the second day of round one, suffering concussion, Mike Turner battled back to finish third in the Veteran Over-50 class on his 450 KTM.

LOCAL ENDURO

The penultimate round of the Isle of Man Centre ACU Enduro Championship takes place this Sunday, organised by Southern MCC.

The event will be based at Carnagrie with timed tests at Eairy Beg (Glen Helen) and Arrasey plantations.

The expert class is currently led by Ashley Kelly on 38 points, followed by Jordan Corkill 38, Orry Millward and Jack Keenan both on 30, Craig Norrey 24, Max Ingham and David Knight both 20, Jed Etchells 17, Daniel McCanney 15 and Bobby Moyer 11.

TRIALS

Isle of Man Youth Trials Club reverts to its main 2026 Talk of the Town Championship this Sunday with round six at Cronk Ashen, Barregarrow. Sign on from 9am for a 10am start. Observers are required.

- Vintage MCC has a handicap trial at Pooil Vaaish farm this Sunday afternoon, starting 1.30.

- The following weekend will be a busy one with the Celtic Match Races at Jurby Motordrome and the Circuit of Mann two-day enduro hosted by Ramsey MCC.

The latter forms the concluding rounds of the ACU British Bike Rally Championship, based at Mountain View Innovation Centre off Jurby Road, Ramsey.
