Nigel Crellin has secured his seventh Isle of Man Centre ACU solo trial title despite being pipped at the post in Sunday’s penultimate round.
Peveril MCC’s Kenyon Crowe Rosebowl event consisted of a runaround event with groups of sections at Billown Glen, Pooil Vaaish, Scarlett Farm and Scarlett Point.
Crellin was leading until the first section at Scarlett Farm where he stalled the Montesa 4RT in section eight which meant Chris Madigan took the lead and the win on the day.
Seventeen points for second place mean that Crellin cannot be caught as closest rival Madigan still has to drop a round.
The pair finished comfortably ahead of the remainder of the field, with Corey Peters 26 marks down on Crellin in third.
Corey’s sister Summer Peters had a superb ride to win the clubman class with a totally clean ride on her 250cc Scorpa.
Robin Arnold finished on two with Neil Christian taking a furthest clean tie-decider with Aleyn Taggart for third. That was crucial to Christian as he is only five points behind Peters in the overall Clubman contest, but the latter has a round to drop, so he is very much in the driving seat.
Russell Millward achieved his third win of the series in the Sportsman class and is now virtually assured of winning that overall.
Ramsey MCC’s Steve Beattie Memorial Trial forms the final round on November 22.
Peveril MCC thank all the landowners and observers for their support on Sunday.
