The 2019 St John’s Fell Race will be held on its traditional New Year’s Day date.
The race will be sponsored by Moochers on Facebook, continuing David Cretney’s support for the race stretching back years.
The start time will be 2pm, with registration at St John’s FC clubhouse from midday. The start and finish will be on St John’s cricket field at Mullen-e-Cloie, alongside the football ground. Please note that it will be a counter in the 2019 Junior Fell League but not the senior league.
Although organisers welcome as many runners as possible in fancy dress, it must be remembered that the race is an official event registered with the Fell Runners Association and as such is held under their rules in order to receive insurance cover. So please, nothing too extreme.
Could everyone also note that the weather may well be inclement, as indeed it has been in previous years. The course is not regarded as too severe but if the weather is bad, conditions on the tops can be pretty hostile. So think about what you wear and you are strongly advised to carry a waterproof jacket.
All entry fees will be donated to the Celia Hunter Memorial Fund.
