Wednesday evening’s Festival of Motorcycling qualifying session has been called off because of forecast wet weather.

A statement released by organisers at 3pm said: ’Clerk of the Course Gary Thompson has confirmed that due to the forecast bad weather, this evening’s qualifying session for the Classic TT Races and Manx Grand Prix has been cancelled.’

With sessions earlier in the week also lost to poor weather, there will now be two qualifying sessions on Thursday, including one in the afternoon.

The statement continued: ’Tomorrow will now feature two sessions with roads initially closing around the Mountain Course at 12.30pm.’

Thursday’s revised schedule:

12.30pm: Roads Close around TT course

1pm: Start Classic TT Senior and Junior/MGP Lightweight and Ultra Lightweight/MGP Newcomers B and C (2 Laps)

2.45pm: Start Classic TT Superbike and Lightweight/ MGP Senior and Junior/Newcomers A

4.30pm: All Roads around TT course open

6pm: All roads around TT course closed

6.20pm: Start Classic TT Superbike and Lightweight/MGP Senior and Junior/Newcomers A

7.15pm: Start Classic TT Senior and Junior/MGP Lightweight and Ultra Lightweight/ MGP Newcomers B and C

8.30pm: All Roads open around TT course
