DIVISION SEVEN

Athol Park Guest House Castletown C 239

Top-Coat Fencibles D 191

Castletown C have now beaten all three other teams in this division, although it still depends on Monday’s result between St Ninian’s C and Rushen C to see whether they or Rushen go into mid-season top of the table.

The scoreline progressed steadily Castletown’s way throughout the evening, but it was by no means one-way traffic with three sets shared between the two sides.

Players of the match were nominated as Richard Parlor (Castletown) and Robin Long (Fencibles).

DIVISION EIGHT

Sulby C 212

Kirk Michael B 126

(penalty applied)

League secretary’s note: After a player eligibility rule infringement, the games involving Kirk Michael B’s fourth man were forfeited to Sulby C. The final score, originally 211/226, has been recorded as 212/126, with the three league points going to Sulby.

The following report was written prior to the penalty being enforced.

Kirk Michael B clinched the overall victory by 15 game points, meaning they had to share the league points with Sulby C who gained their first point of the season.

It was nip-and-tuck throughout, with 21/20 individual game results featuring on three occasions.

Sulby’s junior squad players - Charlie Albiston, Layton Ballard and Daniel Comley - continued to show great promise, each winning individual games, giving them their first ever individual league wins.

A single point stopped 13-year-old Albiston from winning all his six games, but he was deservedly named Sulby’s man of the match alongside Jamie Everitt who was nominated for Kirk Michael.
