The weekend marked the end of an arduous and fragmented season for some teams, with many probably breathing a sigh of relief.
These players can now rest up and begin preparations for next year.
For the remainder there is the potential of two more games before finals day on Saturday, June 5.
Starting with the Rossborough Women’s Cup and Ramsey A were looking to prove their doubters wrong.
Following their bottom-half finish in the top flight they wanted to prove their credentials and were two goals up before Bacchas A fought back to win the match 3-2.
The latter side will now take on Valkyrs B in the semi-final.
Valkyrs B meanwhile enjoyed a resounding victory over Harlequins and will be looking to make the step up and beat a top-four side.
Although Bacchas A remain favourites to make it to the final, Valkyrs B won’t be an easy side to navigate.
Elsewhere, Vikings A completed a routine victory against Saracens with two of the three Foxton sisters sharing half the goals between them.
Valkyrs A, meanwhile, defeated Castletown A to set up a mouth-watering semi-final that could go either way.
Although the last time the two sides met resulted in Vikings A winning four goals to nil, the next games represent the two main title protagonists and the two favourites to win the cup.
In the Rossborough Men’s Plate, Vikings C had an easy ride into the semi-finals following Castletown B declaring they were unable to field a side.
Saracens B and Ramsey played out an end-to-end fixture that saw a huge improvement from Ramsey B, but which ultimately saw Saracens B run out winners to set up a semi-final against Vikings C.
Valkyrs B didn’t have it all their own way this week against Castletown A but they did achieve a win to set up a semi-final against Bacchas Colts who received a bye into the last four.
These semi-finals will all be close and much depends on what players are available on the day, so it will be interesting to see who makes it into the final.
The Rossborough Women’s Plate only saw one fixture take place as three teams received byes into the semi-final, namely Ramsey B, Bacchas B and Valkyrs C.
Vikings B had to overcome a well-drilled Castletown B and, although the latter’s strength is their resolute defence, they can score goals at times as well.
Vikings B needed to make sure they could break down the southerners’ defence early and they did that well, ultimately taking the win and setting up a semi-final with Ramsey B.
The other semi will see Bacchas B take on Valkyrs C in what is probably one of the closest ties, Valkyrs having taken points out of Bacchas B in the league campaign.
