Castletown resident Jonathan Rea will be back in action this weekend when the World Superbike Championship restarts after the summer break.
The triple world champion is heading off to the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimao, Portugal for round 10 of the 2018 season, having won 10 of the 18 races in the current campaign and leads the championship by 92 points.
Speaking ahead of the next round, Ulsterman Rea commented: ’I am very excited to go back to Portimao because it is a circuit that I really enjoy. It has been a really long summer break so the test at Portimao a few weeks ago helped to whet my appetite to get back.
’ The target is clear - to try and win two races.’
