With the outdoor hockey leagues all reaching the halfway stage, time is running out for the teams fighting relegation to pick up the required points to survive.
In PwC Men’s Premier League, Vikings B take on Castletown A with the latter needing to win to have any realistic hope of surviving.
Elsewhere in the men’s top flight, Vikings A are aiming to banish their demons against a Valkyrs A side struggling to find the finishing touch, while the brilliant Bacchas A host a quick Ramsey A side.
Over in PwC Women’s Premier League, Bacchas A will be hoping to earn revenge against a well-organised Castletown A team.
Bacchas A currently sit two points from safety and, with Ramsey looking like they could pick up points in the second half of the season, this is an important game for the women in white.
The other fixture in this division sees Ramsey A look to earn some points in the battle for survival against the impressive Valkyrs A.
In PwC Women’s Division One, Bacchas B and Harlequins A go head-to-head with both teams level on points at the bottom of the table, separated only by goals scored in another relegation battle.
At the top of the standings Valkyrs B and Saracens A will hope to gain an advantage in the title battle which is is incredibly close, with all teams in this league still in with a shout of winning the title.
The way this league has worked out, should Bacchas B or Harlequins A win they will move within striking distance of the top of the table.
PwC Men’s Division One sees the fantastic Saracens A take on bottom-of-the-table Ramsey B in what will on paper be a fairly one-sided affair.
Valkyrs B will be aiming to keep pace with Saracens when they play Bacchas B, while Vikings C are hoping for a surprise victory against Harlequins A.
PwC Women’s Division Two sees Bacchas C taking on Valkyrs C and, after last week’s victory, Bacchas will be full of confidence. Castletown B will be favourites to end the weekend top of the table against Saracens B.
In the PwC Men’s Division Two, Saracens B take on league leaders Valkyrs C. The latter have only dropped one point all season so it will be a tough ask for Saracens B to overcome the strong westerners.
Bacchas C, the most experienced team in all of Manx hockey, take on Valkyrs’ title challengers Castletown B who until last week remained unbeaten.
