The Manx Netball Association’s returners netball and walking netball start next week.
The former runs for seven weeks from September 12 and is ideal is you haven’t played the sport for a while.
Each session starts at 7pm at the QEII and is led by a qualified coach who will reintroduce you to netball rules and tactics through a series of drills followed by some game play.
The cost through to the October half-term is £30 for those who are already MNA members and £40 for non-members.
Walking netball is a much slower paced version of the game.
It is ideal for anyone who maybe hasn’t played since leaving school or wants a gentler way back into netball after an injury.
The focus is on getting people active again so the rules are applied loosely to keep the game going and everyone safe.
These sessions are held at Tommy Clucas Community Hall in Peel from 10.30 to 11.30am on Tuesdays and cost £3 each time.
Netball development officer Rachel Andrew said: ’We aim to have sessions for everyone who wants to play netball, regardless of age and ability. The hardest part is taking the first step and going along to the initial session but I’m sure that everyone will have great fun and get bitten by the netball bug again.’
