Douglas Celts face Ramsey B on Saturday at Port-e-Chee knowing that a win will confirm their place in the Shimmin Wilson Manx Trophy final.

Ramsey B need an unlikely win here to have any chance of qualifying.

The two sides have met already with Douglas winning 84-0 at the Mooragh so they must start as clear favourites.

Ramsey B did, however, beat them last season so that will give grounds for a slender slice of optimism.

In the Manx Bowl competition the race for a spot in the final will really hot up this weekend.

Vagas B who can’t qualify, host Western Vikings at Ballafletcher.

Ste Gawne skippered Vagas to their first win last week against Castletown, however, he’s unlikely to have the same range of players available to him this week and Vikings should start as the favourites, notwithstanding their lack of game time.

At Poulsom Park, Castletown face Emerging Nomads in another close-looking game.

Town were unlucky last week and missed their lineout guru Dan James who was carrying an injury.

If James is back this weekend he’ll provide Town with a little more ball than they saw against Vagas and their potent-looking backline could cause Nomads a few problems.
