Mossley Hill are the visitors to Mooragh Park this week in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Three (South) with Ramsey aiming to capitalise on their away win at Newton le Willows last Saturday.
Mossley haven’t had the best of starts with only one win in five outings and that was away at struggling Wallasey.
The Liverpool side’s results, however, have been tight and they’ve picked up a couple of useful losing bonus points, most notably last week against leaders Ellesmere Port.
This will cause a little concern at Mooragh HQ where the fortress was breached by Prenton two weeks ago.
Ramsey will be without their powerful wing Matty Meechan this week as he’s off-island but he’s the only reported unavailability.
Nathan Thompson could return after missing the trip to Newton le Willows but Dan Bonwick and Connor Cracknell’s back-row form may keep him on the bench.
Will Wren has been missing for a few weeks now and may get a spot at prop as he searches for his 100th league appearance.
But with the forwards going so well in the wet at Newton, the coaches may be loath to make changes unless they have to.
Skipper Michéal Flynn will lead the side from tight head where his reliability is second to none.
Ramsey need a top-five finish in this first phase of league competition and this must start with home wins, despite the Prenton blip.
The form is with them and they should be looking for five points this weekend.
