Two former Buchan and King William’s College students went head-to-head over the weekend as England’s under-17s took on their counterparts from Scotland.

Ex-team-mates Bevan Rodd and Spencer Cope were on opposing sides as the Auld Enemy met in a development game in Newcastle.

Prop-forward Rodd was part of the English side’s front row having enjoyed a fine season for school side Sedbergh and Sale Sharks’ under-18s.

Scrum-half Cope lined up for the Scots, the latest in an ever-growing list of Manx players to pull on the navy blue shirt after impressing at Kirkham Grammar School since moving there last year.
