Southern Nomads kept their Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield title hopes alive on Saturday when they beat Douglas Celts 29-22.
Nomads led 22-15 at half-time. Douglas levelled in the second half and Nomads snatched it with the last play of the game. Brendan Coleman, Rob Keelan, Leon Landels and Ally Kelly all went in for Nomads with Mark Young converting three and adding a penalty. Daryn Thompson, George Blackwell, Carl Conroy and Andrew Colley all scored tries for Douglas.
Castletown recorded their first Shield win this season in the only other game played, beating Ramsey B 40-14 at Poulsom Park.
Lewis Dawson was the star for Town with four tries with other scores from Aaron Ridings and Liam Sweeney. Harry Dawson kicked five conversions. For Ramsey B the danger man was Chris Clague. He ran in two tries with Tom Moffatt converting both.
